Wayfair Super Bowl Snack-Off: Pulled Buffalo Chicken Crockpot Recipe

I was recently contacted by to participate in their Super Bowl Snack-Off.

As a Mom to 5 kids (4 of them boys, 2 of them hungry football playing teenagers), I knew exactly why they had come to me.  The challenge was to create an original recipe suitable for serving at the big game. Each contestant was provided with a Hamilton Beach Stay or Go 6 Quart Portable Slow Cooker from and a $25.00 gift card to cover their ingredients.

I polled my target audience, the always hungry teenagers and their friends, and determined their game day favorites are items like buffalo chicken wings and pulled pork sandwiches.  Armed with that inside information, I decided to take inspiration from both and make a pulled buffalo chicken sandwich.

Serving Size:
around 18-20 large sandwiches

1 12 oz. bottle Frank's RedHot Wing Sauce
1 16 oz. bottle Kraft Creamy Italian Dressing
5 lbs. Boneless Skinless Split Chicken Breasts
18-24 hearty/firm rolls for serving
crumbled blue cheese (optional as topping)
celery (optional as side)
slotted spoon for serving

Place all the chicken in the bottom of the crockpot and pour on the bottle of wing sauce and the bottle of creamy italian dressing.  Cook on high for 5 hours.  Shred / pull chicken apart into small pieces and place back in juices.  Switch crockpot to warm until ready to serve.  There will be plenty of juice left over, so I advise serving these with a slotted spoon on relatively hearty bread.  I used square style rolls from the bakery section of target that had to be split. Garnish suggestions include crumbled blue cheese and celery.

Food Allergy Info:
We have a couple food allergies in the house, so I should point out that this recipe is nut, dairy, and egg free without the optional blue cheese topping and of course would also depend on your choice of roll.

I received a crockpot and a $25.00 gift card from to aid in the making of this post.
